With FDA, State of California, and Canada all having varying regulations, it reaffirms to me that what is 'safe' is still undefined. And if it is possible to create the product with out, then lets focus on that. Under the advanced search options you can find more products that specifically dont have common ingredients that are encouraging or causing skin allergies. I am sure that you have a wealth of knowledge, but it cant hurt to continue the journey. I also recommend Stacy Malkan's Not Just a Pretty Face as a bridge to more learning.
