Workshop: A Book Club Event
Whether you are a member of a traditional book club or simply want to gather a group of interested friends, you can host a truly memorable book club event combined with a Choose Wiser workshop.
To gain the most from this workshop, your group should read Stacy Malkin's investigative book "Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry" to learn about the science and politics of chemicals used in personal care products.
The book offers an inside look at the campaign by environmental and health groups to pressure the US cosmetics industry to use safer ingredients.
After reading the book, your group will gather for a discussion facilitated by Kristi Marsh, founder of Choose Wiser. The dialogue will take the group from where the book left off to what we could do as individuals.
